After earning her bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Boston University, Dashka began an internship learning to make jewelry at a local silversmith shop. Later, she took private lessons with Anne Garland and then attended RISD, majoring in metalsmithing. She also attended the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Santa Monica California, where she continued to learn stone-setting and gem identification.
Dashka's jewelry gallery in New Orleans opened in the French Quarter in 1978 and closed in November of 2017, as Dashka searched for other exciting diversions.
Thus began DR Estate Sales. When an old aquaintance passed away, the estate attorney, (who happened to be my husband) discovered that our old friend had been a hoarder. I volunteered to de-clutter the beautiful home in Uptown New Orleans. During that process, I decided to manage an Estate Sale there when I had completed the cleaning, neatening and organizing. It took a month and the help of some friends - who now make up my team - to get the home ready for the sale. I actually found it quite satisfying, as well as a way to help our deceased friend with his wishes for a legacy gift to Loyola University Music Department. Since then I have been recommended by several Real Estate agents in the area, and my team and I do our best to help our clients avoid the challenges of clearing out a home.
